FAQ
What should I wear? You will be asked to remove your outer clothing, usually down to your underwear. This makes it easier for the osteopath to treat you effectively - however if you feel uncomfortable you may wear loose clothing. How many treatments will I need? There is no set rule as to the number of treatments that will be necessary as this is entirely dependent on a variety of factors unique to each patient, including the type of complaint, whether it is chronic or acute etc. However we will always discuss your course of treatment with you on your initial visit. How long to the treatments last for?Your initial consultation will last approximately 45 minutes to give us plenty of time to discuss your condition, take a full medical history and prescribe any exercises if needed. Subsequent consultations will last 30 minutes as usually less time is required for discussion. When do I need a referral?A medical referral is not required to see our practitioners unless you are claiming the injury through a third party provider (eg. Medicare or Workcover). Some sports insurers also require a medical referral. Private health insurers do not require a medical referral. Am I covered by my private health insurance? Most private health insurance companies offer extras cover for osteopathic treatments. As rebates vary from fund to fund we recommend you check with your provider to see how much you will get back. |
